Second baseman Nellie Fox played most of his 19-season major league career for the Chicago White Sox. He was a 12 time All-Star, including 11 seasons in row from 1951 to 1961. Fox’s best season came in 1959 when he batted .306, won the American League’s Most Valuable Player Award, and led the White Sox to the World Series. Fox batted .375 in the 1959 World Series, but the White Sox lost in 6 games to the Dodgers. Fox was also a very good fielder, winning 3 Gold Gloves during his career. Nellie Fox was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1997.
